Here at Green Racking we are striving to minimise any negative impact on the environment caused from our daily business and our aim is to reduce our carbon foot print year on year. Our aim is to become carbon neutral through our practice of reducing, re-using and recycling.

We are currently working on an environmental programme to help us reduce our waste and lower our carbon foot print through sustainable means.

Rack Safety Inspections


All racking and shelving systems are required to have regular inspections and be in efficient working order.

We offer an independent Health and Safety Inspection Service to ascertain the integrity of your racking and shelving systems. The inspection is carried out by Dexion trained engineers and are conducted in accordance with SEMA codes and guidelines. The inspection will ascertain the integrity of your racking and shelving and our engineer will advise of what is required to ensure you are in full compliance with current legislation.


Identify damaged frames

  • Impact damage to uprights

    • Is the upright broken or bent?

  • Frame bracing both horizontal and diagonal

    • Is any bracing bent or torn from the bolt fixings?

  • Are there any missing or loose bolts or nuts?
  • Floor fixing bolts

    • Have any of them been broken or sheared?

  • Base plates and levelling plates

    • Are any torn from position, are any bolts or levelling plates missing?

  • Splices

    • Is there any visible damage, are all the nuts and bolts still secure?

  • Column guards and upright guards

    • Are they still doing their job?

  • Spacers

    • Is there any visible damage, are any bolts missing?



    Identify Damaged Beams

  • Correct location

    • Has the beam been knocked out accidentally

  • Safety locks

    • Are any of them missing?

  • Impact damage
  • Broken welds
  • Damaged or incorrect pallets

    • Health and safety plays a major part in any business especially within warehouse and stores environments


    Beam section

  • Any damage which affects the section shape, replace the beam immediately
  • If the vertical beam deflection is more than span/200 then the beam is overloaded
  • When unloaded the beam should have a tolerance of span/1000


    • Golden rule for damage: Replace Not Repair
